Philip T. McCabe is an attorney specializing in independent film and television development, production, and distribution. He represents independent producers in negotiating and structuring financing, production, acquisition, distribution, and intellectual property agreements. Philip also represents writers and other independent entertainment professionals, helping them navigate legal challenges and hurdles while focusing on their own creative aspirations and talents.
Philip’s work in motion pictures encompasses not just his experience providing production legal services at all stages, but also in physical production; Philip has written and and produced numerous short films and music videos, as well as working with Oscar-nominated writer/director Benh Zeitlin and Court 13 Productions. Philip uses his experience in the practical realities of film production to offer informed, fact-based advice and recommendations to clients.
Prior to setting up his own practice, Philip was an associate attorney with KarolWilliams PC, a boutique law firm, providing legal services for film, television, distribution and acquisitions, health and wellness, and other entrepreneurs.
Philip holds a JD from Loyola Law School in Los Angeles, with a focus in entertainment and intellectual property law. During his time at Law School, he volunteered his services to numerous organizations, including work on immigration asylum cases and providing US Military veterans with legal aid. Prior to law school, Philip received a BA in Broadcast Production from Loyola University New Orleans.
